Karen Ferrer-Muniz honored by local Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

 

At its annual meeting on April 23, the New York Capital Region of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce honored Karen Ferrer-Muniz, associate dean of Instructional Support Services and Retention, for her role as one of the founding members of the organization.

The NYCRHCC Appreciation Award was presented to Ferrer-Muniz by Board Member Nicolas Morales, owner of the State Farm Morales Agency in Albany, and Board President Laudelina Martinez, owner of the Martinez Gallery in downtown Troy and adjunct faculty in the Department of English, Foreign Languages and English as a Second Language at Hudson Valley Community College.

Ferrer-Muniz is recognized for her “dedicated service to New Yorkers as a Founding Member of the Hispanic Chamber, an exemplary model in higher education, and an altruistic community leader.” The Hispanic Chamber’s mission is to promote the economic development of Hispanic businesses and their contribution to the economic strength of the region.

The Annual Meeting was attended by the membership and Board of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber and held at the Capital South Campus Center in Albany.
